Description
A red clay wall relief from the Kalevala-series (Väinämöinen plays a kantele.) by Rakel Bäck-Usvaala. The plate is from the 1930s or 1940s. Rakel Bäck was the sister of Göran Bäck and had her own pottery, where Göran also worked as a drifter and potter early in his career. Rakel herself was studying at the Central School of Art and Design under Elsa Elenius.
